What is Slack reminders?
Slack reminders are a simple yet powerful tool that can help you stay on top of your tasks and deadlines. With reminders, you can set a message to pop up at a specific time or date, so you don't forget important tasks or events.
How to set a reminder in Slack
Using Form setup
To set a reminder in Slack, simply type "/remind", press enter and followed by the details of your reminder.
Pick and Fill value to When
, Time
, Description
with any value you want
Click Save
button to save the reminder. You can review and edit the reminder by clicking the Later
menu in left side bar
Using slash command with argument (recommend)
Syntax: /remind [@someone or #channel] "[what]" [when]
For example, you could type /remind me Submit the report for task ABC at 09:01 AM today
, and Slack will send you a reminder at the specified time.
You will get the slack notification at 09:01 AM
Reminder to me
Type /remind me "Submit the report for task ABC" at 09:24 am tomorrow
Reminder in channel
Type /remind #ducxinh-internal to submit the report by 09:27 am today
to remind to channel ducxinh-internal
Specified date time with format: MM/DD/YYYY
Type /remind me "Please update your daily report" on 04/28/2023 at 10:00
Recurring reminders
Additionally, you can create recurring reminders in Slack, such as weekly team meetings or monthly reports.<br/>
Just add the word "every" followed by the frequency of the reminder<br/>
Example:<br/>
Type /remind me "Please update your daily report" at 09:00am every Friday
<br/>
Type /remind me "Please update your daily report" at 09:00am every weekday

- every weekday = Monday to Friday
